Whooooo! My first ever mecha artwork -- EVER. :-D Also probably the second piece of fanart in my entire gallery, hahaha. I know it's very different to what I normally draw but we've all gotta challenge ourselves sometime, right?

It took me a while because I wasn't used to so many goddamn straight lines... but ah, we got there in the end. I wanted to go for something simpler, darker. It's not that shabby for a first effort, so I'm quite pleased.

For those of you who don't know(!!), this is a fanart of Evangelion Unit 01 from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. NGE is and has always been my very favourite anime of all time; I think it's just phenomenal. The series also propelled me to draw when I first saw it as a child and was an enormous influence in my earlier artwork.
