So.

You may or may not have seen this trudging slowly through its stages of progress -- what with the first submission of RR PROJECT - 006, and then the heavily refined lineart in RR PROJECT - 006beta. I started work on the original sketches in October 2005, and took a break a few months later, because I was having a serious block -- I couldn't think of any colours to use, or what background to make, etc. Then at the start of this year, I began working on it in earnest, on and off until early February.

This is the first ever fully coloured, full-backgrounded, full-bodied, fully-in-her-special-original-costume picture of Raven I've done in my life. (The Joker picture doesn't count cos that was for the deck. :)) Though I created Raven when I was about 10, she steadily became more important to me, and I increasingly grew frustrated at my attempts at drawing her. Then for about four/five years, I never drew her. There was just some huge, huge, arseholey mental artblock that prevented me from doing so. And so I started the RR Project in the hopes of curing my ailments.

I've had this idea in my head for about five years now.. hah. I've just never been able to put it down on paper. Or -- tablet. :) I promised myself five years ago that when I did eventually do it, I'd dedicate it to my best friend (cos she was there at the birth of Raven :D).

The original lineart alone took about six hours, and then the revamp of the lineart took about eight hours, and then the background+colouring process took about.. well, ten more? Fifteen? All up, this was probably almost 30 hours of work. WHICH IS KINDA CRAZY. I need to work faster, I know. :(

Critique discouraged because I REALLY cannot be arsed changing anything anymore. There comes a time when you're just past that care factor. =P

I'm finally over the Raven Artblock. :D
