Yeah, so. My first semester art final is due on Tuesday, and this frustrating fella here is the main part. The compilation is called "La Mascarade de la Vie" (thank-youuu, Ellie ), and comprises of four different panels, each with a different medium. As you can see, this is the digital panel.
Errr. Yeah, so it is called thus because.. well.. we're supposed to convey some sort of "message" within our final, so I pulled a half-assed "people choose to live by a practised act, under a disguise; life is all a masquerade" sort of thing. Ehh. It was extremely flexible to work with, okay? Title is in French because inspiration came from Cirque du Soleil (which is freakin' AWESOME). And French is hot.
The Opinion To be very, very frank -- I really don't like this very much at all. I mean, there are a frillion different light sources, and the colours are seem so dull & flat. It lacks the real zeal I had been aiming for. :\ AND that crazy mask guy needs to die right now. Him, and his colour coordination (or lack thereof). However, I posted this because I spent SO, SO LONG on it. Spent most of the [crazy-many-woah] hours nitpicking over trivial things, and then was so sick of it by the end that I completely half-assed the rest. And hey presto. Super copout background. And pretty "meh" colouring. My colouring makes me really unhappy because it frustrates me that I really have no idea what the hell I'm doing when I colour. It comes out different every time, but it still maintains this stupidly annoying hardcore-amateur-esque to it. I'm confident with drawing, oui, but violently unstable with colours. Brgah.
I will retouch/revamp this when I have the time to draw for my own leisure.

It's been so long since I've seen full-fledged work from you; and I gotta say that it was well worth the wait! This is amazing, so detailed and encompassing and dealing with the subject so well! I'm really in awe, with the bright colors and the design of each person.y You've improved so, so much, I'm really in awe.
The subdued colours remind me of a circus troope set in the 1900s. It's very rustic and has thus a charming feel to it. The guy in the mask looks freaky... I hate freaky masks @.@
I luuuurve the two girls in front, especially the one on the right. Their expressions really pull you in.
I actually like the colour scheme (though if colour does not love you, I think Elfwood has a few articles on colour theory in the FARP). It gives it this run-down, worn out carnival feeling. It's also neat because the two people in back look like they're trying to hide (since they're covering up their faces and avoiding eye contact), but the two in front look like they're inviting you in.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
